Residential properties demolished due to coastal erosion

Responded Tue 28 July 2026For each financial year from 2010/11 to 2025/26, please provide:
- The number of residential properties demolished because they were at risk from coastal erosion or a coastal landslide.
- The total cost of demolishing those properties.
- The amount of those demolition costs paid directly by the council.
- The amount funded through the Coastal Erosion Assistance Grant, or any predecessor or equivalent government coastal erosion demolition grant.
- The amount paid or reimbursed by property owners towards demolition, site clearance or debris-removal costs.
Please include properties demolished proactively because erosion or coastal land instability created an imminent or foreseeable risk, rather than limiting the response to buildings physically damaged by an erosion event.

No properties within the Borough have been lost due to coastal erosion.
