FOI request (FOIR-853250539)
Listed Building Consent applications
Requested Thu 02 July 2026
Responded Tue 14 July 2026I am currently completing my dissertation for partial fulfilment of the MSc Town Planning qualification at Brighton University, looking at the balance between heritage protections and the retrofitting
of listed buildings for energy and carbon efficiency. I have the following questions to request through a Freedom of Information request;1. How many Listed Building Consent applications have been received annually from 2015-2025?
2. Of these Listed Building Consent applications, how many were approved, refused, or withdrawn in each year?
3. How many full time equivalent (FTE) Conservation Officers are in post?
4. Do your Conservation Officers have any professional accreditations/memberships, if so which and for how long have they been accredited members?
5. What are their application caseload numbers?
Additionally, if possible, please could you provide details for how many Listed Building Consent applications have been approved/refused, for applications which included either ‘double glazing’
or ‘solar panel(s)’ in the description, annually from 2015 to 2025? I appreciate that this additional request may be too time consuming, so if it cannot be done within the timeframe, please only provide answers to questions 1-5 above.
