      Response

Q1 to Q4 - Hastings Borough Council (HBC) do not normally disqualify households for joining the housing register because of rent arrears. However, it is a case-by-case basis as to whether the Registered Provider (housing association) will 'offer' a property to the household if they have rent arrears. Normally, if households have rent arrears, we expect them to have made a repayment plan, and they must be seen to be paying the arrears on a regular basis.

Q5 to Q8 - HBC does not reband/deprioritise households because of rent arrears.
