Question3. How many properties became void during this period (Q1) but were never re-let?
Question4. What was the number of properties that were already void at the start of this period and remained un-let throughout the period? (Q1)
Response
Please accept my apologies for the delay in responding.
Hastings Borough Council carried out a large scale voluntary transfer of its housing stock in 1996 and subsequently only has a relatively small housing portfolio. As a result, the Council does not operate a housing management system capable of routinely reporting on void performance data in the manner requested. At the present time, data relating to voids is produced annually solely for the purposes of statutory social housing returns. Consequently, the Council does not currently hold the detailed void period data requested.
The Council's housing stock is largely recently acquired and is primarily used for temporary accommodation. As such, there will be minimal instances of properties requiring longer term works.
The Council also does not operate a disposal programme and has no plans to sell any of its homes
