Mayoral Cars

This is an information request relating to cars owned, leased or otherwise used by the local authority.

Please include the following information:

1. How many cars your organisation has currently. Please also specify the make and model(s).

Please include the following information for the 2022/23, 2023/24, 2024/25 financial years:

2. The number of cars purchased and the cost of each car.

3. The cost of fuel for these cars.

4. The cost of purchasing any personalised number plates.

5. The costs associated with maintaining any cars. This includes, but is not limited to, MOT, general service, insurance, and new tyres and parts.

If your authority has a lord mayor, chairman/woman, or vice-chairman/woman who has access to a specific vehicle please also make this clear.

Response

Specifically for council business, Hastings Borough Council (HBC) currently leases 2x EV Vauxhall Corsa Electric. The cost of charging is incorporated in the electricity fees for the building (information not held). Neither has a personalised number plate.

Maintenance costs are as follows:

2022/23 - £2,317

2023/24 - £1,879

2024/25 - £3,252

Hastings Borough Council does not have a mayoral/civic car.
