FOI request (FOIR-698389965)
Homelessness
Requested Fri 21 March 2025
Responded Wed 23 April 2025I am writing to you under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 to request the following information on the number of people sleeping rough and/or people who are homeless in your local authority Target Priority Group (or Target Thousand). Could you please provide a response to the following question.
- How many individuals experiencing rough sleeping and/or homelessness in your local authority are identified as being in the Target Priority Group (or Target Thousand)?
Response
For the year 2024-2025, Hastings Borough Council (HBC) identified 20 individuals in their Target Priority Group (TPG).
Across the delivery year period, 16 of those TPG moved from rough sleeping into either temporary accommodation, rough sleeping accommodation programme or secure housing. 2 remain rough sleeping, and 1 has lost contact with services. 1 other sadly passed away.
For the year 2025-2026, HBC have identified a further 20 individuals within their TPG.
These are a combination of individuals who have been rough sleeping long-term and those in insecure housing, likely to return to rough sleeping without a bespoke/targeted intervention. 7 of those 20 were in the TPG in 24-25.
