FOI request (FOIR-616672335)
Motorcycle revenue/litter picker
Requested Wed 22 May 2024
Responded Fri 21 June 2024Having entered an area I now know as Stade Open Space via drop kerb following two other motorcycles parked there (and not the signed main entrance) I wish to know via a Freedom of Information request:
1. the amount of revenue requested from motorcyclists via Penalty Charge Notices in the last 12 months.
2. the name of the sub contracted company responsible for litter picking the area and the name of the employee staffing the Toilets 12/05/2024.
Having had my appeal rejected I now intend to pay the £25 fine and to claim costs from your employee/sub contractor and demonstrate motorcyclists are being treated as a cash cow by Hastings Council.
Original appeal attached.
Response
The following is for Penalty Charge Notices (PCNs) issued for off street (car parks) only.
On street parking is dealt with by East Sussex County Council, please visit their website for further information:
https://www.eastsussex.gov.uk
This figure is minus spoils, voids, test tickets, and warning notices.
PCNs issued between 01/04/23 and 31/03/24 in the Stade Open Space only = 26. None of these were issued to motorcycles.
PCNs issued between 13/05/23 and 12/05/24 in the Stade Open Space only = 38. Of these the total fee paid for PCNs issued to motorcycles was £100.
The company that run these toilets is Wettons (Tel: 020 7237 2007). However, Hastings Borough Council has its own in-house street cleaning team.
NOTICE OF REFUSAL
The information you have requested in respect of the name of the employee staffing these toilets is exempt information under Section 40(2) of the Freedom of Information Act 'personal data'. This is an absolute exemption and the information will not be provided.
