      Mount Pleasant Hospital

      Requested Wed 15 November 2023
      Responded Thu 16 November 2023

I am providing this request for information as your planning department is incommunicado and facing a backlash on social media for its lack of public concern and due diligence. As I am aware the Council seems to loose items that concern developments instead of provide them on its public site, I am requesting this under the Freedom of Information Act.

      1. Can you please provide me site plans for in respect to HS/FA/82/00149 | Circular 7/77 application for the heightening of boundary wall adjacent to oil tanks to provide additional security. | Mount Pleasant Hospital, Frederick Road, Hastings, TN35 5AA?

      2. Can you please provide me site plans for HS/FA/75/00674 | Application under Circular 80/71 for erection of building to house standby generator and for fuel storage | Mount Pleasant Hospital, Frederick Road, Hastings, TN35 5AA?

As they have been removed from your planning website which affects any transparency in its decisions.

      3. Can you also provide details and documents which seem currently absent from your planning system for the demolition of Mount Pleasant Hospital?

      4. I would ask you to note that your local authority appeal which does not even contest or discuss the public concern or carcinogenic substance on the site or the duty of care to the public health which is not evident. I have already pointed out the remediation being used will not remove these contaminants from the hospital burning Residual Fuel from Crude Oil which there are clear insights here:

      https://www.mckinseyenergyinsights.com/resources/refinery-reference-desk/residual-fuel-oil/

Quite frankly I am aware this same issue in China had to be burned physically from the soil, something that cannot be done here due to emissions laws. Can you provide what documents you hold concerning remediations that have been completed?

      Response

In respect of both the listed applications, all documents held by the council are available to view by the public on our website:

      https://www.hastings.gov.uk/planning/searching/

If the information you are requesting cannot be found there, then it is not held.
