Homelessness staff

Under the Freedom of Information Act 2000, I respectfully request the following information:

1. the number of homelessness staff the council has on site at a council building to assess people approaching as homeless face-to-face.

2. the number of the above staff who are on site full time through the week.

3. the method through which homeless people approach the council if there are no homelessness staff on site at council offices.

Response

Hastings Borough Council has a Customer Contact Centre whereby people can present themselves as homeless and speak to an officer in person.

We currently have 11 full time front-line Housing Options Officers (homelessness) and no part time officers.

This service is covered by our out of hours co-ordinator by calling 01424 451999 during evenings/weekends.
