Responded Thu 22 June 2023I am writing to you under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 to request the following information which pertains to Disabled Facilities Grants.
Please may you provide data on:
1. The number of applications the council has received for Disabled Facilities Grants in the last five years.
2. The number of applications that have been accepted resulting in a Disabled Facilities Grant being awarded in this timeframe.
3. The average time, from the date an application is received, it takes the council to make a decision on the application.
4. The total amount the council has awarded on Disabled Facilities Grants in the last five years, split by year.
Response
1. Hastings Borough Council (HBC) received 475 completed applications.
2. HBC approved 474 of the 475 completed applications.
3. The average time taken from application to approval from April 1st 2018 to March 31st 2023 was 13 days (10 work days).
4. Total amount the council has awarded on Disabled Facilities Grants in the last five years, split by year:
a. 2018/2019 - £1,679,781.00
b. 2019/2020 - £1,812,584.00
c. 2020/2021 - £1,812,584.00
d. 2021/2022 - £2,056,655
e. 2022/2023 - £2,056,655
