Responded Wed 12 July 2023I am writing to request information regarding the process of procuring social housing within your council area. Specifically, I would like to know:
1. What is the process for procuring social housing within your council area?
2. What criteria are used to determine eligibility for social housing?
3. How many social housing units has your council procured in the past year?
Additionally, I would like to request information on the number of homes your council owns and maintains. Specifically, I would like to know:
4. How many homes does your council currently own and maintain?
5. What is the breakdown of these homes by type (for example, social housing, affordable housing, market-rate housing, and so on)?
6. What is the average age of these homes?
7. How much does your council spend annually on maintaining these homes?
8. Who is in charge of maintaining these homes and is it possible to have their contact details?
Response
1. Hastings Borough Council completed a Large Scale Voluntary Transfer (LSVT) of its stock in 1996. Social housing is chiefly delivered by Registered Providers. The Council has also purchased street acquisitions for use as temporary/move-on Accommodation.
