Asylum seekers

I am writing to make a request under the FOI Act. Please could you tell me whether there are any asylum seekers being accommodated in hotels your local authority area? To be clear, I am not asking you to provide any information that would directly identify, or reveal the specific address or ward area in which asylum seekers are being housed.

I would only like to know whether your local authority area is currently accommodating asylum seekers in a hotel or hotels, or not.

The Freedom of Information Act is based on recorded information held by a local authority and not a tool to ask questions.

You are asking a question regarding asylum seekers being accommodated in hotels within the borough. This is not a request for recorded information and therefore falls outside the remit of the Act.
