Business Rates Credits and Write Ons

In terms of the Freedom of Information Act 2000, I hereby request a list of unclaimed business rate credit balances. Please can you also include accounts where a 'write on' has been used to cancel an overpayment which has not since been reversed.

Please can this information be provided to me in an Excel Spreadsheet, including the following fields:

1. Ratepayer name

2. Property address

3. Billing authority reference

4. Amount of credit/write on

5. The period or financial year of the credit/write on

I appreciate that properties where the ratepayer is an individual would be excluded from my request. In such cases, please provide the remaining information with the Ratepayer either blank or listed as 'individual'.

Please see attached our response to your Freedom of Information request.

Please note the Property Reference number relates to the property, not the account number for the customer. This reference is available on the internet, for example the gov.uk website regarding a property's rateable value.

The figure in the 'outstanding debt' column is the credit amount.

We do not have a report with an option to pick up credits, so we selected those with a debt less than zero to pick up all accounts in credit.
