FOI request (FOIR-406531782)
Business Rates Account Credits and Write Ons
Requested Tue 08 March 2022
Responded Wed 16 March 2022In accordance with Section 8 of the Freedom of Information Act 2000, I wish to request access to information below.
The information required relates to accrued NNDR (National Non Domestic Rates) credit balances and write ons (that is, credits that you have been unable to trace recipients for and have therefore wrote into your accounts, leaving an outward appearance of a zero balance).
We request a breakdown of credit balances accrued remaining unclaimed since your earliest records, for the amounts owing to all incorporated companies or public bodies (that is, not individuals/private individuals) within any local authorities billing area, to include:
1. The name of each business in respect of which Non Domestic Rate credit balances remain payable
2. The value of overpayment in each case with remains unclaimed
3. The years(s) in which the overpayment was made
4. The hereditament address, and
5. Account Number or billing hereditament reference
Response
Please see attached our response to your Freedom of Information request. This is on two spreadsheets.
Please note that the Property Reference number relates to the property, not the account number for the customer. This reference is available on the internet, on the gov.uk website, regarding a property's rateable value.
The figure in the column that says 'outstanding debt' is the credit amount.
We do not have a report with an option to pick up credits, so we have to put in debt with less than 0 to pick up all accounts in credit.
