Position
The Hastings Local Plan, Part Three - Planning Strategy, Chapter 5: Spatial Areas, iii) Eastern Area, Policy FA5: Strategic Policy for Eastern Area, Table 4: The indicative quantity of development for Eastern Area says -
"h. aim to achieve National Nature Reserve status for the Hastings Country Park, as part of Council's Biodiversity Action Plan, area by 2015"
Request for information
Please supply a copy of all records of action and decisions taken to advance the status of the Hastings Country Park Nature Reserve to National Nature Reserve status in accordance with the meaning defined in the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 Section 35.
Please supply a copy of all correspondence with Natural England (the appropriate conservation body) on advancing the status of the Hastings Country Park Nature Reserve to National Nature Reserve status.

Information not heldDesignating a site a National Nature Reserve is a function of Natural England, not the Local Authority. As it is not a function of the council, there are no records of decisions. The council has no correspondence with Natural England. -
