Please confirm whether your council has volunteered to take in asylum seekers and send me the number of asylum seekers that your council has accommodated since January 1st 2018. 

Please also provide the amount of money that your council has spent on accommodating asylum seekers during this time period

Hastings is a dispersal area for asylum seekers that have an outstanding case with the Home Office and are awaiting a decision.

Hastings Borough Council (HBC) however does not accommodate these asylum seekers. Locally, the contract for the provision of accommodation is with Ready Homes Ltd under the Home Office's COMPASS contract. This means that Ready Homes Ltd sources private rented accommodation in Hastings and St Leonards. No asylum seekers are accommodated by HBC.
