    1) Crisp bags / TerraCycle 2) McVitie's wrappers 3) Shelf edges

    Requested Fri 16 November 2018
    Responded  Tue 20 November 2018

    1) Recycling Walkers crisp bags via TerraCycle - https://www.terracycle.co.uk/en-GB/

The individual bags are made of a different plastic to the larger multi-pack ones, what effect does this have on the scheme?

How many other facilities, besides TerraCycle, are there to recycle this sort of plastic?

How quickly will you have a collection facility in every neighbourhood?

Will it be clearly labelled with which brands are acceptable, and which are not?

How many of these KP Snacks brands are acceptable?

McCoy's, Hula Hoops, KP Nuts, Tyrrells, Butterkist, Pom-Bear, Popchips, Skips, Space Raiders, Nik Naks, Wheat Crunchies, Discos, Penn State, Roysters, Frisps, Brannigans, Choc Dips

What about supermarket own label packs / other brands?

    2) Some McVitie's wrappers have a TerraCycle logo on them, but are made of a different plastic to walkers crisp bags - What does this mean?

They need to be collected separately from the crisp packs?

    What other brands are acceptable?

3)When will you be discussing the above, with regard to their promoting your collection schemes, with all your local stores? and - The supermarket shelf edge is a good place to put recycling, and health, information, eg Products that shouldn't be flushed - cotton buds, wet wipes, dental floss, wrappers, (condoms?) and ?

    Response

Hastings Borough Council is the waste collection authority. We do not deal with waste disposal, this is dealt with by East Sussex County Council, please visit their website for further information: www.eastsussex.gov.uk
