Prosecution under S165 of the Equality Act

Responded Fri 29 June 2018In a recent response to a FOI request, you indicated that there was a prosecution of a taxi driver under way under S165 of the Equality Act - which puts obligations to taxi drivers as to transporting wheelchair users.
Please could you indicate what happened in the prosecution? Was it successful? Any other information you can give me about the prosecution would be great.
Response
The offender was interviewed under PACE (Police and Criminal Evidence Act) and reported. The decision was made to offer a simple caution and this was carried out by the Authorities Legal Officer.
The injured party made aware of our actions and has recovered.
The incident was caused when an extremely tight turn was made.
