Please could you tell me how you manage your bus shelters in Hastings. Do you have a contract that covers maintenance and advertising? If so who is it with what is the value and how is the money made from sale of advertising shared between the supplier and the council?
Response
Q1 - Approximately 50% of the bus shelters in Hastings are managed and maintained by the council, the remainder are managed and maintained by Clear Channel.
Q2 - Yes, for approximately 50% of the bus shelters.
Q3 - It is with Clear Channel. No financial value, value was in that at commencement of the contract new shelters were supplied and installed at no cost to the council and thereafter maintained by the company; the income from advertising remains with the company to pay for the maintenance. There is no income to the council only the benefit of not having to fund maintenance for a number of shelters.
