FOI request (FOI-76891398)
Landslip monitoring
Requested Tue 29 May 2018
Responded Thu 21 June 2018HBC now claim that the landslip is monitored. This contradicts a public statement from Cllr Chowney at a full council meeting where he stated no monitoring was taking place.
HBC have not supplied any details of how the landslip is being monitored. It seems that monitoring consists of the Rangers taking an occasional look from behind the fences. This cannot be described as proper monitoring of the landslip. Proper landslip monitoring would require precise measurements of movement undertaken by qualified geotechnical specialists and physical tests of drainage and ground water levels.
HBC claims that Coffey are involved in monitoring and have given advice on stability of the landslip but again give no details of what this involves.
Please supply us with details of what measures are being taken to monitor the landslip. Please include technical details of the measures taken.
Please supply us with copies of any documents produced by Coffey concerning monitoring and the advice given by Coffey.
