    The Foreshore Trust is a charitable organisation dedicated to supporting projects that improve the quality of life for residents of Hastings and St Leonards. Through its grant programmes, the Trust aims to strengthen local communities, promote inclusion, and address key social challenges.

    We are pleased to announce the launch of our Large Grant Programme for 2026–2028. We invite charities, non-profit voluntary and community organisations working for the benefit of local residents to apply for funding under this programme.

    Programme Priorities

    This funding opportunity is designed to support organisations that make a real difference in our communities. The programme will focus on the following priority areas.

    • Housing, legal, welfare, and debt advice
    • Support for those affected by domestic violence
    • Advice and infrastructure support for community organisations
    • Outreach services for rough sleepers
    • Advice and support for migrant and newly settled communities.

    The Foreshore Trust has allocated approximately £181,000 per year for this programme.

    The funding will be split as follows for 2026-27:

    • Housing, legal, welfare and debt advice - £94,500
    • Support for those affected by domestic violence - £25,500
    • Advice and infrastructure support for community organisations - £18,000
    • Outreach services for rough sleepers - £30,500
    • Advice and support for migrant and newly settled communities - £12,500.

    Eligibility Criteria

    To apply, your organisation must:

    • Be a registered charity, non-profit voluntary or community group operating in Hastings and St Leonards.
    • Deliver services that align with one or more of the programme priorities.
    • Demonstrate the ability to manage grant funding responsibly and report on outcomes.

    How to apply

    Complete the application form - you will need to log in to an existing My Hastings account, or create a new one to apply, but this will allow you to save the form to complete in stages if needed.

    Steps:

    • Read the service specifications (above) carefully to ensure your project aligns with the programme priorities.
    • Complete the application form in full and attach any required supporting documents.
    • Review each section thoroughly, and once you are satisfied, submit your application no later than 12 noon on 29 January 2026.
    • Late or incomplete applications will not be considered.

    Timetable of next steps

    • 5/1/26 - Applications open
    • 29/1/26 - Applications close at 12noon
    • 2/2/26 – 23/2/26 Grant advisory Panel assessment of applications
    • 23/3/26 – Charity sign off recommendations
    • 27/3/26 – Notification to applicants
    • Week commencing 30/3/26 – Contracts drawn up and sent to successful applicants
    • On receipt of signed contracts – first quarter payment
