Retailers
In food hygiene terms a retailer is a business that sells food, including any food that needs to be kept cold to keep it safe, such as milk, dairy products or sandwiches. These include small convenience stores, 'corner shops' and confectioners, tobacconists and newsagents. Typically, the food is low risk in nature and normally pre-packaged ready for sale to the customer.
Do I need to register?
Businesses who sell either low risk food products or predominantly non-food products with very little food or drink on offer must still register with the local authority. You should register at least 28 days before you intend to start trade.
To register visit food registration form.
