Press Releases: week beginning 14 April 2014
New 'Tree-t' for Alexandra Park
Alexandra Park in Hastings, one of the country's best linear parks, has got a new addition.
Park ranger Nick Hennessy explained:
"Alexandra Park is a fantastic place, much loved by residents and visitors alike and it isn't just a great place to walk and relax, it's also well known for its tree collection, with some superb specimens. Unfortunately, very occasionally, trees die.
"With that in mind, we are very grateful to The Friends of Alexandra Park who have purchased a replacement Gogun Tree for one that died unexpectedly.
This is an unusual tree from Japan and has a wonderful fragrance and will add to the many things to be found in Alexandra Park."
More information on the amazing trees in the park can be found in our free tree walk leaflet, obtainable from Alexandra Park Café or the Community Contact Centre.
Press Releases from week beginning 07 April were also issued this week.
