Draft Development Management Plan and Introductory Workshops
Draft Development Management Plan
Following on from the Big Map work, informal consultation on the draft Development Management Plan ran from Friday, 03 February until Friday, 27 April 2012.
This consultation concentrated on the sites which could be allocated for different land uses (house building, commercial development etc), and also the policies used in deciding planning applications. The sites were grouped into 13 'Planning Focus Areas', each of these representing an area with similar demographic and planning characteristics. These sites are illustrated in 'Appendix A: Potential Allocation Sites' in the following document list:
- Draft Development Management Plan informal consultation: full document (.pdf)
- Draft Development Management Plan Policies Section (.pdf)
- Draft Development Management Plan Potential Sites Section (.pdf)
- Appendix A: Potential Allocation Sites (.pdf)
- Appendix A: Town Centre and Shopping Areas (.pdf)
- Appendix B: Protective Designations and Allocations (.pdf)
Please note that these documents have a large file size and may take some minutes to download.
Prior to the consultation, workshops were held in January 2012, we also held a series of exhibitions at various locations around the town where staff were on hand to explain some of the complexities around this consultation and help people fill in their response forms. Comments received to this consultation and our response along with The Development Management Plan Informal Consultation document (split into sections) are available to view online (this link will open a new browser window, choose the document you require and follow the onscreen instructions).
Introductory workshops (January 2012)
Building on earlier consultation as part of the 'Big Map', 2 introductory workshops were held in January 2012 for local residents associations and community groups. These explained the Development Management Plan and how to get involved in the process.
