Hastings Museum & Art Gallery needs your votes
Hastings Museum & Art Gallery is in the running to be crowned the Best Educational Day Out in London & South East by Day out with the Kids. The museum was shortlisted after a record number of nominations and comes after a year of growing visitor figures and a record number of school visits.
Kim Forward, lead councillor for culture said,
"We are really pleased that our wonderful museum has been shortlisted in the Day out with the Kids' Family Favourites Awards which recognises places that really work hard to deliver for families.
"The shortlist is made up of destinations that have been rated positively by real families and we are thrilled to have that seal of approval. Please vote for us and help us win!"
Now it's all in the hands of the public, with voting open from today until Monday 30th September. You can vote online at: https://awards.dayoutwiththekids.co.uk/vote-2019/
Do you own a potential building site?
Hastings Borough Council is asking for owners of potential building land to register their site.
Kim Forward, lead councillor for planning policy explained,
"Hastings Borough Council has launched a 'call for sites' as part of our work to update the Local Plan. It is a request for information about land which may be suitable for development in the future.
"It is aimed at landowners, developers and agents but is open to anyone who wants to submit a site.
"We need to find more land for housing in Hastings, particularly genuinely affordable housing, to cope with the housing shortages that are forcing up housing costs."
Responses will be considered as part of our 'Strategic Housing and Employment Land Availability Assessment' which is an important part of the work to update the Local Plan."
The 'call for sites' will run until Wednesday 9 October 2019 and further information including submission forms can be found at https://www.hastings.gov.uk/call-for-sites"/"
