Funding
The council has been awarded up to £6.9million through Homes England to proceed with the development. In addition to getting the land etc. ready for development, the council will also need to meet grant conditions linked to the speed and type of construction.
Consultation
Following an initial consultation event with residents in the local area on 23 September, we held another public consultation event on 30 September at Stade Hall. These events were designed to hear more about what the site means to people and how the project can benefit the community.
We held a further consultation event with residents and other interested stakeholders on 31 October to provide attendees with an opportunity to view and comment on our emerging proposals for the scheme.
The consultations were attended by council representatives, our architects Metropolitan Workshop, and their support team.
Information boards
Stage 1
The following information boards were a key part of the initial consultation events we held in September 2019. The boards display a range of information, including an introduction to our project team, a detailed analysis of the site and key considerations and opportunities. They have been published here for the benefit of those who could not attend.
Stage 2
The information boards below set out our emerging proposals for the site which have been developed following feedback from local residents and stakeholders.

Planning Pre-Application Forum, 13 January 2020
We'll be presenting the proposed plans at the planning pre-application forum at 6pm on 13 January 2020 at the council offices (Muriel Matters House, Breeds Place, Hastings TN34 3UY).
The planning forum provides an opportunity for us, the developer, to present our proposals to a wider audience and for a structured discussion to take place. We will be reviewing our plans in light of the feedback we receive during the forum before we submit a planning application.
The planning forum is managed by the council's planning team. The public are encouraged to attend and listen however only invited stakeholders (including community representatives), councillors and officers can speak. If you have any concerns or ideas you wish to be raised at the forum, the planning team encourage you to contact your local Councillor or your local community group so that they may raise them on your behalf. The planning team can be contacted directly by emailing planning@hastings.gov.uk.
If you have any comments or feedback for the project team, you can fill out our online comment form. If your questions relate specifically to planning matters these need to be directed to the planning team by emailing planning@hastings.gov.uk
More information about the project is set out in this Lower Tier Site Cabinet Report.
