Additional HMO licensing scheme consultation
**This consultation is now closed and here for reference purposes only.**
What and why?
The council is consulting on a new Additional HMO licensing scheme which will come into force in early 2018. As part of the process we required to consult with interested parties about the scheme and consider representations made before finalising any decisions. A full copy of the consultation document is available here. A condensed version with the main proposals is available here.
Please note that changes to ward boundaries in May 2018 will mean that some properties not previously licensed may fall into the additional licensing regime. If you would like to check whether you are affected please go to the Local Government Boundary Commission website.

The consultation will run for 11 weeks. The deadline for feedback is the 9 June 2017.
Consultation Events have been held in both Hastings and St Leonards. If you missed these events a copy of the presentation given is available here. Please note that this is provided as part of the consultation but does not replace the actual consultation documents above.
Following the consultation period, all the information gathered from responses will be analysed. A final report will be produced that will highlight responders' opinions and any changes the council have made as a result of the consultation and a recommendation will be made for consideration by the Cabinet on a date to be determined.
A summary of the report and final decision will be made available on the council's website. If you would like to be notified when this is available please send us your email address. Should the Council then decide to go ahead with the scheme it will be subject to the statutory requirements required to designate a scheme and will be publicized in accordance with legislative requirements.
