'Hastings is online' Wi-Fi network
Hastings has an outdoor Wi-Fi network along parts of the seafront and town centre that's fast, secure, and free to use for everyone.
If you are standing near to one of the Wi-Fi access points shown in the map below, try connecting to Hastings is Online with the password Hastings!
The network is available from a series of antennas shown in the map below. If you are close to one, just connect your phone, computer or science project!
The idea of the network is to make Internet access available to everyone and encourage innovative uses that benefit our town. We're hoping you will use it for live streaming, "Internet of Things" projects and digital art, as well as just getting online!
The network allows you to freely connect your device, as long as you are within proximity of one of the network antennas. Unlike a lot of public Wi-Fi networks, it is encrypted with a password and your Internet traffic is separated from everyone else's for security.
How do I get online?
1. When you are in proximity of an antenna, look for the 'Hastings is online' network under available Wi-Fi networks.
2. when prompted use the password: Hastings!
3. You are now online anywhere in proximity of an antenna, there is no maximum time limit on your connection
