    Foreshore Trust grant application form

    Round 6 of the Foreshore Trust Combined Small & Events Grant Programme

    The programme will offer awards of up to £6000 for grants to support smaller voluntary and community groups in carrying out activities, services and events which benefit and support the local community within Hastings & St. Leonards. This round of funding is for events and activities that are set to happen between October 2022 and September 2023.

    Any proposed events in an application must consider given current, ongoing and any anticipated future Government guidance in relation to COVID-19.

    Latest Government guidance can be found on the COVID-19 section of the Government's website.

    The deadline for applications is 12 noon on Friday 15 July.

    Please note, the application process for this round is completely online.

    The Foreshore Trust Grant Advisory panel will be meeting in August 2022 to consider the applications and make their recommendations for funding. Final approvals will be made by the Charity Committee in September 2022. Notification of the outcome will be end September 2022

    Foreshore Trust Combined Small & Events Grant Programme - Round 4


    The deadline for applications for this programme has now passed.

    The Foreshore Trust is taking applications for its fourth grant programme for 2020-21.

    The programme will offer awards of up to £6000 for grants for voluntary and community groups offering a service within Hastings & St. Leonards, and for events being held on Foreshore Trust land.

    Foreshore Trust Large Grant Programme 2021-24

    The deadline for applications for this programme has now passed.

    The Foreshore Trust is inviting non-profit-making voluntary and community groups that work for the benefit of residents in Hastings and St Leonards to submit applications for funding under this new grant programme.

    This grant call will primarily fund organisations to help our communities and it is anticipated that applications should also include a response to the current COVID-19 pandemic.

    Following formal approval in the March 2020 charity committee meeting, the priorities for the  programme will be as follows:

    a. Housing, legal, welfare and debt advice
    b. Domestic violence support
    c. Provision of advice and support to community organisations (voluntary sector infrastructure support)
    d. Rough sleepers outreach support
    e. Advice and support to migrant and newly settled communities

    The Foreshore Trust has allocated for the whole funding programme approximately £162,000 per year over a three-year period, which will cover 2021 - 2024.

    We also have a 'Golden Thread' of co-ordinated working through all the funded Foreshore Trust large grant projects, to address and develop a wider mental health agenda. The proposal is for the golden thread to be allocated an extra amount within years 2 and 3.

    Foreshore Trust Combined Small & Events Grant Programme (responding to COVID 19 pandemic crisis) Round 3

    Please note: The deadline has now passed and Round 3 is closed.

    This grant call will primarily fund organisations to help our communities respond to the COVID-19 pandemic crisis.  This COVID focussed round will have a quicker turnaround to award grant funding to local organisations that are responding to the challenges within our community presented by the current health pandemic. Applications will also be considered from organisations which have been indirectly disadvantaged by the pandemic or which bring proposals to enhance social cohesion at the present time.

    The main aim of this programme will be to support smaller voluntary and community groups in carrying out activities and services supporting the current demands and needs of local residents to provide relief and support. The fund also aims to help with capacity building of smaller voluntary and community groups to strengthen their ability to carry out their work. Grants of up to £6,000 will be awarded to voluntary and community groups providing support within Hastings & St. Leonards.  To release the funding as quickly as possible the call will be open for less time than normal. Around £45,000 is available for this programme round.

    The Foreshore Trust Grant Advisory panel expect to meet in early June 2020 to consider the applications and make their recommendations for funding. It is anticipated final approvals will be made by the Charity Committee in mid to late-June 2020.

    Foreshore Trust Combined Small & Events Grant Programme Pilot Round 2

    Round 2 of the Foreshore Trust Combined Small & Events Grant Programme for 2019-20 announced

    The Foreshore Trust has announced that it is piloting an exciting new combined grant programme for 2019-20, which incorporates previous small and events grant programmes. There will be two rounds of the new pilot programme in 2019-20 and the second of these opens for applications on Monday 28th October 2019. The pilot programme will offer awards of up to £6,000 for grants for voluntary and community groups offering a service within Hastings & St. Leonards, and for events being held on Foreshore Trust land. Around £45,000 is available for this programme round.

    Applications are invited for the seventh round of the Foreshore Trust Events Grants Programme - this is a small grants scheme to increase public enjoyment of the Foreshore Trust's land by encouraging a year-round programme of events. Around £30,000 is available this year for small grants of up to £2,000 each.

    The programme is open for applications from 12th November 2018 and closes at midday on 7th January 2019.

    Small Grants Fund Round 8

    The Foreshore Trust Small Grants Fund is a small grants scheme for voluntary and community groups offering a service within Hastings and St Leonards. Around £60,000 is available this year for small grants of up to £5,000 each. The programme is open for applications from 16th April 2018 up to midday on 14th June 2018. The Foreshore Trust Grant Advisory panel will be meeting in July 2018 to consider the applications and make their recommendations for funding. Final decisions will be made by the Charity Committee in September 2018.

    The main aim of the Small Grants Fund is to support smaller voluntary and community groups in carrying out activities that enhance the quality of local residents' lives and increase their involvement in the community. The fund can also help with capacity building of smaller voluntary and community groups so as to strengthen their ability to carry out their work.

    Priority will be given to projects aimed at generating or sustaining activity run on a voluntary basis for the benefit of groups often excluded from mainstream activity or communities experiencing the effects of multiple deprivation. This can apply to certain neighbourhoods in the borough or communities of identity such as people with disabilities or Black and Minority Ethnic (BME) groups.

    In detail the priorities for the Foreshore Trust as a charity is as follows: the prevention or relief of poverty; the advancement of education; the advancement of health or the saving of lives; the advancement of citizenship or community development; the advancement of the arts, cultures, heritage or science; the advancement of amateur sport; the advancement of human rights, conflict resolution or reconciliation or the promotion of religious or racial harmony or equality and diversity; the advancement of environmental protection or improvement; any other purposes currently recognised as charitable and any new charitable purposes which are similar to other charitable purposes.

Around £50,000 is available this year for small grants of up to £5,000 each. The programme is open for applications from 20th April 2017 up to midday on 15th June 2017.

    The main aim of the Small Grants Fund is to support smaller voluntary and community groups in carrying out activities that enhance the quality of local residents' lives and increase their involvement in the community. The fund can also help with capacity building of smaller voluntary and community groups so as to strengthen their ability to carry out their work.

    Priority will be given to projects aimed at generating or sustaining activity run on a voluntary basis for the benefit of groups often excluded from mainstream activity or communities experiencing the effects of multiple deprivation.
