How can I access the housing options service?
We offer free, impartial advice on a wide range of housing issues as part of our housing options service.
The housing options service can be accessed either over the phone 01424 451100 or in person at our Community Contact Centre:
Hastings Town Hall
Over the phone
If you choose to access the housing options service over the phone you will need to call 01424 451100. You may have to wait in a queue for your call to be answered.
Once your call is answered, one of our customer service officers will go through an enquiry form with you. The customer service officer will then assess your needs based on this form and book you an appointment with a housing options officer. They will provide you with all of the details for this appointment including when and where.
You will need to turn up 30 minutes before you appointment in order to fill out a more detailed form. In the appointment the housing options officer will review this form, and may ask you further questions, before providing you with tailored advice based on your needs.
To access the housing options service in person you will need to go to the Community Contact Centre (address above). Upon arriving there you will have to queue to see one of our customer service officers. They will ask you a number of questions to understand your needs. Once they have this information they will then book you an appointment with a housing options officer.
You will be given an additional, more detailed, form to take away and fill out for the appointment. You will need to hand this form to the housing options officer at the start of the appointment. They will then review your form and may ask you further questions before providing you with tailored advice based on your needs.
The housing options officer that you have initial contact with will be responsible for handling any ongoing advice or assistance you need. You will be provided with their contact details during your initial assessment and you should then contact your housing options officer directly with any further queries rather than going back to the Community Contact Centre.
