I want to let my property through the Council
Hastings Borough Council operates a Social Lettings Agency called Letstart Letting. The aim of Letstart is to provide quality, affordable rented accommodation to local people.
As a landlord you can let your property through Letstart. As well as being an ethical way to let your property, there are loads of benefits for landlords, such as a guaranteed leasing fee for the duration of the 3 year lease even if the property is empty. There are no hidden costs or fees either.
If you are interested in leasing your property through Letstart or want to know more, visit the Letstart website.
Advice for first time landlords
If you're considering letting your home for the first time, you may find it useful to read the Department for Communities and Local Government's guidance on 'Renting out your property'.
This guidance explains the relevant laws, gives information on the length of tenancies, serving notice, your responsibilities as a landlord and the responsibilities of your tenants.
