How to claim the council tax rebate

If you have received a letter inviting you to apply for the £150 council tax rebate, please follow the instructions below to claim. If you have friends or family who have received the letter, please follow these steps with them to help them if you can.

1. Visit www.grantapproval.co.uk
2. Register your email address
a. Check your inbox/junk mail and click on the link provided
b. complete the sign-up process
c. complete your name, date of birth, address and contact details
3. Select Hastings as your local Authority
4. Click Energy Support Payment
5. Click Find Schemes
6. Click All Schemes
7. From the drop-down menu "Request Type" select "Energy Support payment"
8. Click "Start An application"
9. Enter your Property Reference number
a. This can be found by visiting the Gov.uk web site link on the same page
10. You can provide your Council tax number but this not necessary to complete the application
11. Complete the Declarations
12. Click Continue
13. Continue and complete all requested information on the following pages as needed.

• Ensure your name and address match your council tax bill and your bank account details.
• We will contact you using the contact details provided if there are any issues.
• Payments will be made into your chosen bank account within 3 weeks of your application.
