Sea Space is working to transform the 'Priory Quarter' area - the section of Hastings town centre including Priory Street, Havelock Road and Middle Street, the University Centre Hastings and the Creative Media Centre to create a vibrant business and education quarter.
An outline plan, exhibited in Priory Meadow earlier this year, shows how new development could introduce leisure facilities, improved pedestrian access and new homes. The first building to be developed in the area is likely to be on the 'Gap Site' between Havelock Road and Priory Street. A planning application for a mixed use development here has recently been submitted to Hastings Borough Council.

The recent planning permission for Station Plaza means business space for 900 jobs plus 102 apartments to allow more people to live in the heart of town. It also means space for Hastings College to relocate and a Primary Health Care Centre big enough to take all the GPs working in town centre practices.
By delivering these developments, this major project will turn the old station goods yard, derelict for years, into a lively, thriving plaza.
Priory Meadow Manager John Hough said:
"The Station Plaza is a natural extension of the regeneration impact Priory Meadow has already made. New students, workers and residents will bring extra business and vitality to the shopping centre and to the whole of the town's retail and leisure activity."
