Managing Regeneration Funds

Managing the Money

Managing money needs dedicated resources, using the latest financial appraisal and monitoring systems, to control the various funding streams coming into the town.

Funding comes from European and UK sources for projects all over Hastings and St Leonards and we manage and monitor progress in each siutation.  All outputs and outcomes are monitored along with the financial progress of each project to ensure that claims are made on time, as agreed with the project leader before the project starts.

We manage the Single Regeneration Budget (SRB) programme for Hastings and have distributed more than £26million of funding over 11 years.  Alongside other funding SRB enables various voluntary, statutory and charitable organisations to provide a wide range of regeneration activities in the town.

We also manage the Area Investment Framework (AIF) which is a funding programme supported by the South East England Development Agency to benefit the Hastings and Bexhill area.  Led by the Hastings and Bexhill Economic Alliance, a multi-agency partnership, this programme is focused on delivering an agreed strategy for economic development, regeneration and inclusion.  Different from SRB, the Economic Alliance will commission projects to be funded from the AIF which fit within annually agreed priorities.

We are also currently monitoring the European Social Fund (ESF) funded project called Get Ready.  This project helps disadvantaged people get into work by providing advice, training and work experience for local people.
