Area Investment Framework

This is a process for determining the most effective way of deploying regional resources to regenerate the local economy.  It Involves totalling the amount of funding an area receives from private, public and voluntary sectors.  This is matched against the characteristics of the area, highlighting investment gaps and areas of need.  In our case, the area considered is Hastings and Rother and is initiated by the South East England Development Agency.

The AIF helps us plan spending and directs it to local priorities.  We are currently working with a three year framework, which expires in 2007.  The Hastings and Bexhill Alliance, which manges the Area Investment Framework comprises:

One from each of:

  • East Sussex County Council
  • Hastings Borough Council
  • Rother District Council
  • East Sussex Economic Partnership
  • Hastings and Bexhill Task Force
  • South East England Development Agency
  • Sussex Enterprise
  • Sussex Learning and Skills Council
  • Chair of Bexhill Regeneration Partnership
  • Chair of Hastings Regeneration Partnership
  • Government Office for the South East
  • Ex officio member, officer representing the 'accountable' body

(The 'accountable' body in the list above is Hastings Borough Council which provides the secretariat and can respond to any enquiries.)

Three from each of:

  • Bexhill Regeneration Partnership
  • Hastings Local Strategic Partnership
