

This is a process for determining the most effective way of deploying regional resources to regenerate the local economy. It Involves totalling the amount of funding an area receives from private, public and voluntary sectors. This is matched against the characteristics of the area, highlighting investment gaps and areas of need. In our case, the area considered is Hastings and Rother and is initiated by the South East England Development Agency.
The AIF helps us plan spending and directs it to local priorities. We are currently working with a three year framework, which expires in 2007. The Hastings and Bexhill Alliance, which manges the Area Investment Framework comprises:
