Public Art Objectives and Strategy
The Public Art Objective state that the following will be the cornerstones of future public art development in Hastings and St Leonards:
- Continue to advocate for the role of public art in Hastings and St Leonards.
- Implement public art projects as part of regeneration initiatives being led by the Council as appropriate.
- Actively encourage developers of major schemes to incorporate public art initiatives.
- Give clear guidelines as to how those commissioning public art can ensure that their schemes are of high quality.
- Form an advisory group representing a wide variety of interests to advise on the development of public art projects.
- Ensure that local artists have the opportunity to tender for and participate in public art projects and associated initiatives.
