We can announce that Roddy Llewellyn, gardener, landscaper and horticultural expert will be re-opening the historic St Leonards Gardens on 21 June.
Roddy, son of Olympic showjumper Harry Llewellyn and brother of controversial politician Dai Llewellyn, shot to fame for his beautifully designed gardens and commissions from the UK to the West Indies.
A much-publicised affair with Princess Margaret in his early 20s was soon put behind him and Roddy went on to have a prolific writing career, committing his expertise to paper through his books and various newspapers and magazines.
For four years he was the gardening correspondent for The Star, followed by a stint at the Mail on Sunday. Regular television appearances ensued with presenting roles on Roddy Llewellyn's Gardening Guide and a series on Welsh Gardens.
Four years ago he launched Llewellyn's Lectures, held near his home in Oxfordshire.
On Saturday, June 21 Roddy will officially re-open the Burton designed St Leonards Gardens. The day promises to be packed with fun and activities for the very young, older children and adults. Watch our for our historic costumed characters setting the Burton theme, music, guided walks, drama and stalls to browse around.
