Fellowship of St Nicholas (FSN)

Based at the St Nicholas Centre, St Leonards-on-Sea, the Fellowship runs projects which include:

Youth Club for young people aged 10 - 16 years at both centres/li>
PALS play and learn service - free fun and drop-ins for children and parents/carers for 0-4 year olds
St Nicks Nursery- 38 place all day care - Monday to Friday
Stepping Forward supporting the community to access training, learning and employment
Fun Van providing imaginative and creative learning at outreach venues/li>
Greenway Nursery - 38 place all day care - Monday to Friday at the Sure Start Children's Centre, Hastings

Sure Start Ore Valley and Sure Start Hastings & St Leonards

Surestart is a government programme which aims to achieve better out comes for children, parents and communties. It enables families to access:

Free quality play, learning and childcare experiences for their children
Enhanced healthcare services, including advice about child health and development
Support for children with special needs, including access to specialist services
Free family support delivered directly in the home
Free advice and information, including counselling and benefits advice

Building on successes of Sure Start local programme the Government is committed to delivering a Sure Start Children’s Centre for every community by 2010. Sure Start Children’s Centres will enhance existing services and extend the benefits to more families in areas where it is most needed. Sure Start Children’s Centres are places where children under 5 years old and their families can receive seamless holistic integrated services and information, and where they can access help from multi-disciplinary teams of professionals.
