Hastings Local Development Framework - The Spatial Plan for the Borough update: May 2009

Hastings

How are we doing?

Work is now underway to respond to everyone who commented on the Core Strategy Preferred Approaches document and these responses will be published shortly.  Meanwhile you can view the comments we received in our Local Development Framework area, at Century House, Hastings Information Centre or Hastings Reference Library.  We will use these comments to assist in the preparation of the third and final version of the Core Strategy, technically known as the'Submission' stage.

Site Allocations

Work has started on the initial stages of our Site Allocations Development Plan Document.  This will identify individual development sites and follows on from work already undertaken in preparing the Core Strategy.

Informal consultation on the Site Allocations document is planned to take place in Summer 2009.  Keep an eye on the consultation page for further information and look out for advertisements in the local press nearer the time.

Other News

Revisions to our timetable for plan preparation, known officially as the 'Local Development Scheme' were approved by Hastings Borough Council Cabinet on 30 March 2009.  Visit the Local Devleopment Framework area for the new timetable.

Our Communications team is working on getting all our background studies and evidence base for policy making available on our website.  These will be available on our LDF documents page.  Meanwhile these are available to view only at Hastings Information Centre or Hastings Reference Library, or to view or purchase from Century House.

Spread the word

Finally, it is really important that as many people as possible take part in the Local Development Framework (LDF) process.  If you are, or you know someone who is interested in the future of the town, please contact us to register your details.
