We have now gone live with 1APP

Applications made through the Planning Portal will now automatically use the new forms.  From April the new forms will become mandatory and we will no longer accept applications on our old forms.

If you do not wish to apply online but would prefer to print out copies of the forms to fill in, you can download them here: www.hastings.gov.uk/planning/application_forms.aspx

Building knowledge at planning workshop

The planning process was demystified at a recent workshop in Hastings.

Council planning officers joined forces with an expert from Planning Aid to explain the complicated process step by step.  Ten keen participants came along to 'Planning Unpacked 2' to find out about how the planning process works from start to finish, making representation on new LDF documents and making effective comments on planning applications .

Councillor Matthew Lock, lead member for planning said:

"'Planning Unpacked 2' was as successful as the first and gave residents the perfect chance to see the how planning works and how easy it is to get involved.  Planning applications and policies can have an effect on many people and so it's important residents know how to comment and make representations that will help us make the right decision.
"We realise how important it is to give residents the right information so they can get involved in our decisions and that's why we'll be hosting more sessions like this in the future".

Planning Aid offers free independent town planning advice to individuals and local organisations that cannot afford to pay a planning consultant and works with communities to make the process clearer and enable them to play a more effective role in the planning of their areas.
