Hastings Local Development Framework (LDF): Update August 2007

Scaffolding in front of a building

How are we doing?

The next stage of the Hastings LDF is to produce a document called "Core Strategy: Preferred Options".  The Core Strategy is one of a number of LDF documents that we will be writing, we carried out the first stage of writing the Core Strategy - called Issues and Options - last year.

To write stage two we have to:

  • consider the comments received in the "Core Strategy Issues and Options" consultation that took place at the end of last year
  • prepare a number of documents and studies, looking at issues such as flood risk, sustainable construction and land for housing
  • assess the environmental, economic and social impacts of the different issues and options that have been put forward

Work is well under way and we plan to have the document ready for publication and consultation in early 2008.  You can find out more about the Hastings LDF, including a timeline showing the various production stages at www.hastings.gov.uk/ldf

Future Consultations

The next scheduled consultation is the Core Strategy Preferred Options and the consultation will be advertised widely.

Spread the word

Finally, it is really important that as many people take part in the LDF process as possible.  So if you know someone who hasn't yet registered their details with us please tell them to contact the Forward Planning team on 0845 274 1098 or e-mail fplanning@hastings.gov.uk so that they can register to receive future e-mail updates.
