The Hastings Statement of Community Involvement sets out the standards for consultation with the community on various planning issues, including planning applications. This was submitted to the Planning Inspectorate on the 17th October 2005, with the 6-week consultation period running until early December 2005. 17 representations were received, with just 4 objecting to part of, or the whole Statement.
We are now at the stage where an Inspector has been appointed to carry out the examination of the document, and have written to all respondents to see whether they have any additional information they would like to be considered. We expect the written representations examination to be carried out in February, with the Statement of Community Involvement being formally adopted in April 2006.
If you would like any details about the Statement of Community Involvement, including information about the representations received, please contact our Community Involvement Officer on 01424 783322, or visit the Local Development Framework section of this website.
We have recently published an Annual Monitoring Report for Hastings that covers the period April 2004 to the end of March 2005. This document contains lots of information and statistics relating to Hastings, which aim to assess how well are our planning policies are working, and also to identify any issues that need to be addressed for the Borough as a whole.
This is a statutory document that we are required to produce by Central Government on an annual basis. The Annual Monitoring Report is available for download at Local Development Framework, or you can contact the Forward Planning section on 01424 783319 to order a hard copy at a cost of £10.
