Plannning News Issue 34

Will Marina Pavilion be going up in the world?

Hastings and Bexhill Renaissance Ltd have submitted a planning application for the redevelopment of Marina Pavilion on St Leonards seafront.  The proposals include the erection of a new structure with large areas of glass at upper promenade level to form a new entrance together with a restaurant and kitchen.

This is a prominent site and we would welcome your views before a decision is made on the planning application.  Will the proposals bring new life to this part of the town?  Should the building be extended above the existing promenade?  Are the proposed uses suitable? Is the design appropriate in this location?  What about car parking and public transport?
