All events and activities can be reached by train and bus.  The nearest train stations are Crowhurst Station, Bexhill Station and West St Leonards Station.

Meeting points:

As shown on the map, the meeting points are:

  • MP1: Car park in Ninfield Road, opposite Lidl in Sidley
  • MP2: Sidley Green outside The New Inn
  • MP3: Galley Hill, near the coastguard station at the top
  • MP4: Café on the beach, Glyne Gap (through pedestrian railway tunnel)
  • MP5: The green at the entrance to Hastings Garden Centre
  • MP6: Viewing platform on Bulverhythe beach, by the railway footbridge off Bridge Way
  • MP7: Bulverhythe playing fields car park, off Bexhill Road (first turning on the left east of the entrance to Hastings Garden Centre)
  • MP8: Combe Haven Holiday Park, Harley Shute Road (meet at Holiday Park reception building)
  • MP9: Crowhurst Recreation Ground
  • MP10: Crowhurst Station

General information about the events

Leaders will always be present at the start of a walk.  If the weather is poor, they will decide on the day if the walk should go ahead.

Symbols:

The following symbols give an indication of the level of fitness you'll need to have in order to participate in certain events:

Easy walk Easy walk but with some uneven ground

Moderate walkTypical country walks with some hills, stiles, and muddy paths.  May include steps.

Difficult walkWalk will include some steep steps, wet sand and a pebbly beach.

All the family are welcome at events and activities.  Children must be accompanied by an adult.  Dogs should be well behaved, under control and on a lead where appropriate.

Please check to see if dogs are allowed at a particular event.

What to wear

Wear suitable clothing for the time of year and ensure adequate protection from the sun. Wear stout, comfortable footwear suitable for uneven ground.

Food and drink

Refreshments will not be provided on walks unless otherwise stated.  Please bring your own water and snacks.
