We're working with East Sussex County Council and South East England Development Agency to improve the pedestrian environment along the 'Kings Road Corridor' which runs from St Leonards Warrior Square station to the seafront along Kings Road and London Road.
These improvements are designed to attract visitors and new businesses to the area and work is scheduled to begin within Kings Road in early 2009.
As a result, we need to review parking allocations in the neighbouring streets and promote the introduction of short-term parking areas to get things moving in the area and stimulate shopping and visitor activity.
At the same time, we're taking the opportunity to review parking arrangements for disabled badge holders and deal with a number of parking related problems that have been brought to our attention over the past few years.

We're proposing a series of one-way streets around the perimeter of Warrior Square Gardens and formalised parking within an 'echelon' style, diagonal arrangement.

A total of 181 Questionnaires were returned within the consultation period, representing 22.6% of the total leaflets distributed.
The first set of data summarises the number of responses received and the number and percentage of respondents who was answered yes, no or don't know when asked for their view on the proposed Echelon Parking Study in Warrior Square. It should be noted that not all questions on returned questionnaires were completed by respondents. Therefore, the percentages shown have been based on the number of responses per question and do not include missing responses.

The consultees were also asked to specify whether they resided, worked or owned a business in the area. It should be noted that some respondents answered yes to more than one question.
