On Street Parking

Pay and Display

On-street 'Pay and Display' machines can be easily identified by the large blue 'P' motif on the side.

They accept £2.00, £1.00, 50p, 20p, 10p and 5p coins, but do not give change.   A pay-as-you-go, or 'smart' card is also available for the on-street machines to save the need to carry the right change.

These cards can be purchased from the Parking Office or from the Hastings Information Centre at Queens Square and carry a credit value of £10 or £20.  A £5 refundable deposit is charged for each card.   Once purchased, the card can be recharged at the machines at any time, to top up the level of credit available.

The charging period for on street pay and display bays is 9am to 8pm, on all days of the week (including Sundays and Bank Holidays).  Free parking is available from 8pm overnight to 9am only.
