About BillPay

The online BillPay service is provided by Santander Corporate Banking, and advanced levels of data encryption technology ensure that your sensitive banking details are transmitted in a secure and confidential way. To begin to use the BillPay service, you will need to follow the online registration process.

Using BillPay

Please note that the BillPay service only allows online payments using a Debit Card (Maestro, Visa, Visa Electron, and Solo).

You will need to quote the following reference numbers when using the BillPay service:

Council Tax bills

Please use your Council Tax Account reference number (not your property reference number), which is shown on the front of your Council Tax bill.
Note: Please quote the 9 digit reference number shown on your bill.

Business (non-Domestic) Rates

Please use your Non-Domestic Rates Account reference number (not your property reference number), which is shown on your Business Rates bill.
Please quote the 14 digit reference number shown on your bill excluding the prefix 19.

General Invoices (Hastings Borough Council invoices only)

Please use the Invoice Number (not your customer number).
Note: You will need to set up a new account (Hastings Borough Council Accounts Payable) for each new invoice you wish to make a payment against.  This is done by choosing the ‘Change your Details’ and then ‘Payment Profile’ menu options on the BillPay screens.
