Celebrity chef Jamie Oliver came to Hastings Old Town on 10 and 11 August to film scenes for Sainsbury's latest television advertising campaign. Over 1500 extras were pulled in to create an authentic street party in which Jamie prepared all kinds of delicious treats with his trademark energy and banter.
Hastings was chosen over several other potential filming locations and will now be seen by millions of ITV viewers as the commercials are broadcast over the Autumn. This campaign is just one of many major productions that has been brought to Hastings. Recent years have seen the town playing host to an international advertising campaign for Disney, a feature film starring Michael Caine, and the hugely popular drama series Foyle's War.
Visit our film liaison pages for more information about filming in Hastings and St Leonards.

After many years, we're replacing 'Ask the Leader', a popular part of our website where residents have been able to put thousands of questions to the Leader of the Council about a whole range of issues.
From next month, Councillor Jeremy Birch, the Leader of Hastings Borough Council, will be running his own blog. Residents will be able to communicate with him directly though the blog, posting comments and answering poll questions. As with 'Ask the Leader', Jeremy will reply to any relevant comments or questions, and we hope that the blog will become a valuable new way of residents engaging with Hastings Borough Council.
