The Council will monitor and review the process and success of the nature conservation strategy, its policies and their implementation, modifying them where appropriate.
In order to assess the effectiveness of the Strategy, it is essential to monitor and review its implementation as a Borough wide commitment to the natural environment. It will be important to update survey information and re-assess policies in light of future legislations and guidelines. As a habitat survey forms the basis of the strategy, the general effectiveness of the policies can be assessed by reference to original baseline information providing an indication on the quality of the natural environment within the Borough of Hastings.
The Borough Council will;

c) Open and running water features and associated habitats including restoration schemes where appropriate.
d) The development of a Biological Records Centre.
e) Protected and unprotected species.
f) Management practices.
NC 8.2. Monitor any grounds maintenance changes or specific schemes aimed at improving or creating wildlife habitats.
NC 8.3. Prepare an annual report for presentation to Borough Council's Committees describing the progress of the implementation of the strategy.
