The Borough Council, will support international and national policies, directives and agreements aimed at promoting an ethic of sustainability and protection for the natural environmen

Justification

International concern for nature conservation and the health of the global environment has grown in recent years. Countries throughout the world are developing policies and agreements aimed at protecting the world's ecosystems and developing a philosophy of sustainability towards the world's natural resources.

NC 1.2. Participate fully in and promote initiatives aimed at developing a framework for sustainable development, such as a Local Agenda 21 Policy Framework.

NC 1.3. Review and amend the Borough Plan to incorporate relevant policies and proposals of the nature conservation strategy.

NC 1.4. Produce guidelines on the use of the natural resources which at present may contribute to the destruction of natural or international ecosystems.
